The Hucklebucks are a five-member blues band from Sacramento, California, that have been performing and pleasing the public for more than two decades. Chris Fraire, Leigh Lunetta, Chris Martinez, John Noxon and Saxophone Zot have released four CDs, the last one being Juke Box Blues. Their hard work has been rewarded with three SAMMIE Awards for “Best Blues Band in Sacramento” and a place in the SAMMIES Hall of Fame. All four members are also in the Sacramento Blues Hall of Fame.
Five remarkable figures from the local live music scene will be honored at the Sacramento Blues Society Hall of Fame ceremony on Sunday, September 3.These include Kyle Rowland, who plays with “The Kyle Rowland Blues Band” and has toured with blues legend Mitch Woods. Robert Sidwell is another inductee who formed the successful blues band The Chromatics in the 90s and plays with many local Sacramento bands when not on tour with national blues singer Earl Thomas. Liz was the original bass player for Little Charlie and the Nightcats (1976 to 1988) and helped put Sacramento on the blues map as a female bass player. She played at several Sacramento blues festivals, joining Sonny Rhodes, Tiny Powell, Roy Brown, Gatemouth Brown, Big Momma Thornton and Floyd Dixon.
